This 16 day tour takes you on a journey through the ‘Royal’ Rajasthan. India is both a destination and a journey. It has woven its magic on travellers from all parts of the world for a millennium now. It is a complex and rich culture, with so much to offer. Rajasthan, the “Land of the Kings”, is India at her exotic and magical best! Awash with searing, riotous colour, built on myths and the Rajput tenet of death before dishonour. Like a legend that has come to life, Royal Rajasthan boasts an incredible array of historical architecture.
Tour Highlights
- New Dehli – The famous Taj Mahal
- Ranthambore, which is famous for its Tigers!
- Jaipur (and it’s pink mayhem!)
- Pushkar’s holy lake with temples, bathing Ghats, onion domes and chalk coloured buildings
- Bikaner – the sprawling desert town with its fort and a bustling walled city
- Mandawa with wildly colourful, beautifully and bizarrely painted havelies (traditional ornately decorated residences)
The tour starts with the arrival in India’s Capital City Delhi, before heading south towards Agra and into Rajasthan (home of the most appreciated monument of love “Taj Mahal”!). Some say that to be in Agra is like taking a walk through India’s Mughal period history, with avid glimpses of Mughal architecture. Other than the Taj Mahal, Agra’s attractions include the Red Fort (built by Emperor Akbar on the banks of the River Yamuna) Sikandra (the mausoleum of Emperor Akbar), the Itmad-ud-Daulah (a mausoleum built for Empress Noor Jahan’s father) and last but not the least and a short distance away, Fatehpur Sikri.
Ultimately, this tour is jam packed with adventure this tour is the perfect way to explore the historic and cultural richness that India has to offer.
