An ancient landscape covering hundreds of thousands of square kilometres, the Kimberley is one of the world’s most precious wilderness regions. It also offers fantastic hiking experiences. Get ready to trek through open eucalypt forests dotted with the iconic and wonderfully shaped baobab trees, before exploring unexpected and spectacular swimming holes. You’ll soon find each walk is different to the next and offers a new experience.  

Immerse yourself in the rugged beauty of Western Australia’s Kimberley region, where ancient landscapes reveal cascading waterfalls and hidden gorges. Over 13 adventure-packed days, you will explore the best of the West Kimberley including Tunnel Creek and hidden gems like Bell Gorge and Manning Gorge, where refreshing swimming holes await. Take your time to walk, swim, relax, and soak up the surrounding beauty each day. After a full day of exploring you will enjoy comfortable camping under a blanket of stars in remote locations.

Highlights of this walk

  • Gibb River Road:  Travel the entire Gibb River Road, exploring the gorges of the area with plenty of time to swim in waterholes and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
  • El Questro Wilderness Park: This area is a playground of experiences including rugged mountains, lush deep gorges, cascading waterfalls, and natural thermal springs.
  • Purnululu National Park (the Bungle Bungles): You will have the opportunity to spend two days discovering the renowned scenery of the Purnululu National Park. This includes hiking through gorges and valleys, as well as marvelling at the striking and distinctive red domes of the ancient Bungle Bungles.
  • Wildlife: See an abundance of wildlife, including kangaroos, wallabies, crocodiles, and a variety of birds..
  • Relax under a blanket of stars each evening
