ADVENTURE TRAVEL GROUP NEPAL MARCH APRILYesterday I went to the airport to meet my next group of 11 (4 couples and 3 ladies) for their 1 month trekking adventure in Nepal. We arrived Kathmandu by flight from Pokhara and today we have been sightseeing to Durbar Square, the ladies have been having a wonderful time buying pashminas and gifts to take home to their loved ones. This evening we had a farewell celebration and sadly they depart for home which is Sydney, Brisbane and Arizona. They have been absolutely delightful traveller’s [….]

POKHARA We departed Chitwan for our drive by private vehicle to Pokhara an approx. 4 hours drive with many interesting sites on the way. We have arrived at Chitwan National Park Nepal and what an exciting 2 days, riding and bathing elephants, searching for the elusive bengal tiger but only to see footprints but not to be disappointed as we spotted many rhino’s with baby’s, sloth bear and spotted deer. Day 1 As our aircraft approached Bhutan’s Paro International Airport we were amazed at the scene the snow-clad slopes gave way to beautiful forests of pine and rhododendron trees, and just below the tree line, verdant valleys and white water rivers gave way to fields of green. There is a sense of timelessness as the plane makes a perfect landing. [….]

Kathmandu – The last few days have been hectic, we have visited many wonderful places in Kathmandu. The girls have shopped and bought wonderful pashminas, handicraft etc at least they are keeping the economy in Nepal healthy. Day 7 Paro – KathmanduIt was a sad day for everyone of us to leave Bhutan and the Bhutanese friends we have made during our trip. 5th NovemberTime just flies by and every turn in the road brings another amazing view , wonderful temple, prayer wheels water driven by mountain waterfalls spinning and roadside stalls with local vegetables and roasted corn. 7th November.Today we rose at 4.00am to leave at 5.00am so we could get to Thimpu in time for the public celebrations of the 5th King of Bhutan.We reached the Dochula Pass (the highest pass in Bhutan at 3,100m) The sky was clear, the sun was just rising and the snowy peaks of the Himalaya were revealed in all their [….]

Day 6 Today was a special day in Bhutan especially as we were to tackle the climb to the famous Taksing Monastry situated 3180 mtrs above Paro.
