We are having a fantastic time here in Bali. We thought the first few days of our All Women’s Bali Indulgence Tour were amazing, but it has just kept on getting better and better! Our 3 days in Ubud were both active and relaxing. Out first morning we took an exciting downhill cycle from Kintamani to Ubud. The ride was on quiet roads taking in the breathtaking scenery and meandering through rice fields. We stopped along the way to take in the history of temples and village life. Finishing with a visit to our guide’s compound before a Balinese lunch at a local restaurant.
After a swim at the resort, we took part in a lesson in making Canang sari. These are intricate daily offerings crafted by the Balinese people as a symbol of gratitude and respect to the Gods. Beautiful woven bamboo baskets hold a vibrant array of rice, flowers, incense, sweets, fruits, spices, and sometimes even a cigarette. In some families over 60 are made daily.
Of course a visit to Ubud would not be complete without a yoga class!
The next few days were spent exploring an untouched part of the island. High above Lake Batur we enjoyed our delicious picnic breakfast of fresh fruit Balinese coffee and pastries. We hiked for 3 hours in total, taking plenty of stops along the way, before arriving at our destination of Tying Thali Village.
When we arrived in the village we saw the ladies and younger generation of male and female making hammocks. Enjoying breathtaking views and learn about the sustainable development of rural, poor area in northern Bali village of Mutiganung. This is a unique experience that we will not forget. All proceeds of our hike go towards helping the village provide 25 litres of water per day. It also ceates sustainable income for 1000 people by implementing capacity building projects. The goals is that these can transform into independent enterprises to support the setup of a family business with newly obtained skills.
Further on we travelled by vehicle to the Foundations cashew nut and rosella factory where we sampled cashew nuts, rosella tea and rosella sweets. After making many purchases we then continued our drive to the north coast and our resort at Tembok. Time to swim and relax by the pool in our stunningly beautiful surroundings!
Our resort has been a mini paradise, located in the small village of Tembok, situated on the north-east coast of Bali it is far from the madding crowd of the tourist mecca in the south-west of the island. Our resort offers a unique place to chill out, relax swim and great for snorkelling.
Tucked away in the serene fishing village of Tembok situated on the northeast coast, surrounded by breathtaking mountains and the Bali Sea, sits our tranquil retreat and dedicated staff ensuring our every comfort. Snorkelling off the reef, luxurious spa treatments, relaxing meals by the sea, brilliant sunsets and sunrises, Balinese dance performances were the order of the day.
