Negombo to Anuradhapura

Ayubowan – may you be blessed with long life! With this lovely traditional
welcome greeting we were met by our Sri Lankan guide at the International Airport which is located between the seaside town of Negombo and Colombo. We arrived at our hotel around 130am after a long flight via Singapore, fortunately most of us scored 3 seats to catch a nap and stretch out. Time to hit the sack for a few hours sleep. The following morning up early for a walk on the beach and a few laps of the hotel pool.  At breakfast we all tried the delicious hoppers which are crepes filled with egg, onion, chilli, tomato. Departing our hotel at the civilised time of 10am we drove 1 hour to the fish market, where we saw an abundance of different varieties of seafood, the local fisherman brave the rough seas 6 nights a week to fish, to make an income. On Sundays they go to church. Today we have a long drive to Anuradhapura stopping on the way at a local cafe which served us a delicious local buffet for $5.50 After lunch we visited Yapahuwa Temple before finally arriving at our hotel at 530pm
