We left Edinburgh today after spending Teo glorious days exploring one f the most beautiful cities n the world. As we travelled to Northumberland Coastal area we were amazed at its outstanding natural beauty. The Northumberland coast was designated in 1958 and covers 39 miles of coast, and within the stretch of coastline is some of the most dramatic scenery [….]

We are still travelling! Two days ago we left Wales behind, and one of our favourite and most scenic was the drive through Snowdonia National Park. Even though the weather was warmer than usual for this  time of year, cloudy and damp, the picturesque landscape was magnificent with its autumn leaves drifting down from the massive oak trees forming an amber [….]

. After our short stay in Gloucester  to visit my husbands cousin who he met for the first time, we set off to Wales, with a detailed map donated by his cousin. Our first stay was in Carmarthon a quaint Welsh village, where we had our first taste of delicious Welsh cakes. We set out the next day in rain, [….]

We thought that a 5 week road trip around the UK would be easy. We collected our car at Gatwick and set off on the motorway to Dover (which was to be our first stop) with a very large map and no GPS. My husband prefers what he calls the Emanuel, so odds on we will get lost, he says [….]

The group departed Santiago de Compostela today. In some ways I am sur they were sad to leave but happy to be going home to family and friends. .From the initial sighting of the three spires from Monte de Gozo, to the arrival in the square, we felt happy and strongly at peace. We thought of thousands (millions?) of pilgrims who had stood before these magnificent edifices, of their joy, elation and relief.  Three of us lunched with gusto: beer, pimentos, octu pus, croquette  and calamari.
