Today we enjoyed a colourful days sightseeing of Fes the religious capital of Morocco our tour in the old Medina (market) we admired a collection of tradition art such as the sculptured wood, wrought iron, and plaster as well as the decorative materials that are works of art. We explored the labyrinth of souks declared by UNESCO as one of the world”s cultural treasures complete with carpets, embroidery, jewellery and coins. We visited the tannery which literally took our breath away with its pungent odour We had fun bartering for carpets and jewelry were they continually exhorted us to buy their goods without drawing breath to listen to our pleas to escape, I never thought shopping could be so exhausting, in the end I did resist and bought a magnificent carpet leaving a happy salesman in my path.
