Nepal School Futures

Last week I visited both Oxford Fall Grammar and Lindfield East Public School, both of which are giving their support to remote village schools in Nepal. The past 3 years LEPS has donated to Saraswasi school funds, school uniforms and equipment. During those 3 years we have buildt 3 new classrooms renovated the HM’s office, built much required amenities such as a toilet (before they were visiting the bush) water and water tap, replaced the roof, replaced benches and chairs, blackboards, and cement rendered the inside and outside of the school. In October this year I will be taking my annual visit to the school, and with the assistance of my clients, who at the end of their Overland China and Tibet trip will spend 5 days at the village to help paint the school.

Oxford Falls Grammar school has now offered extra assistance in the way of funds that will go towards helping a junior/high school in the same area. My neice Sara is this years School Captain at OFG and last year had the opportunity to visit Saraswasi School in Nepal. She was so touched and moved by these beautiful children that she wanted to continue fundraising when she returned home. In the event she raised $400 by making cookies to sell at her school, her class were so inpressed with her passion for the children of Nepal that they decided year 12’s fundraising would go to help a school in Nepal. I will keep you updated on our visit.
