Women’s Bali Retreat

Highlights of our Trip

Full day Hike
We explored a nearly untouched part of the island of the Gods enjoying breathtaking views. We learnt about the sustainable development of rural, poor villages in northern Bali. It was a very unique rewarding experience that we will not forget. The hike to Tiyeng Tali Village included a steep hot and dusty 1 hour climb to the ridge where we were rewarded with spectacular views of Mount Batur and Lake it was then another 2 hour hike to the village. In the afternoon we were rewarded with a swim in the ocean and a magnificent lunch by the pool.

Indonesian Cooking Class

Today began with a visit to the local market with our chef Ibu Ani, who has a great love of knowledge of cooking. She began cooking as a young girl, and frequently caters events, often for up to 800 people. Although Bali is a relatively small island, there is a great variety in both the styles of cooking and ingredients. Ibu Ani comes from the mountainous Kintamani region of Bali and brought her own style of cooking as well as her unique twist of many of the recipes. During th day we set about preparing a complete Balinese Feast from appetizers to dessert. We cooked and ate all day long. It was a fantstic fun day enjoyed by all of the girls.
